The Tipsy Typewriter Cocktail Seminar

May 21 | 6:00-8:00pm @ The Center for the Arts

Raise a glass to literary greats with an evening of cocktails inspired by the masters of the written word. On the eve of the Mountain Words Literary Festival, we’ll shake, stir, and sip our way through the Hemingway Daiquiri, Fitzgerald Fizz, and Poe Punch—each crafted with flavors as bold and nuanced as the writers themselves. Learn the history, techniques, and tales behind these iconic drinks while enjoying a lively, bookish toast to the festival ahead. Cheers to words, rum, and well-made cocktails!

21 and Over

Phases of the Owl Moon

May 24 | 10:30am-12:30pm @ The Trailhead Museum

Inspired by the Mountain Words Festival authors and books that celebrate the moon, winter landscapes, and wildlife; the Trailhead is excited to host moon inspired art workshops for children ages 5 and up. Workshops will follow the story and illustrations of the book, Owl Moon. In Owl Moon, a child goes out into the forest with their father, searching for owls. They experience deep shadows, beautiful shades of white and snow, and take in the beauty of the winter and the night.

Phases of the Owl Moon: At this special workshop, we will create our own moon wall hanging. We will create different versions of the moon using printing and painting techniques and upcycle.

Recommended for ages 5-7 (all welcome)
